Hello! I am Lawrence Andres, the owner and president of Harmony Organic Dairy Products Inc. My family has been farming in Southwestern Ontario since 1979, promoting environmentally friendly practices that prevent further pollution of our land, water and air. Our mission is to promote sustainable agriculture while supporting the family farm.
Our beginnings are fascinating, yet humble. In May 2001 Harmony Organic was created in response to consumers’ and retailers’ desires for uniqueness and differentiation from the mass market dairy.
Our first processing took place on September 25th, 2001, reintroducing milk in environmentally friendly, returnable glass bottles. It was an idea that was adopted from the past, that addresses current consumer and environmental needs.
Through our entrepreneurial spirit, we have been able to offer the highest quality organic dairy products at the most competitive pricing. Harmony offers a complete line of fluid milk and cream products available in reusable glass bottles, recyclable cartons and 4 litre bags.
As in any relationship, we enjoy working with like-minded, grass root organizations that share our core values and ethics. This includes treating the environment and customers with respect and fairness, all while delivering the highest quality, minimally processed food.
We are honoured to work with and recognize the efforts and challenges that Impact has chosen as their business model.
Our animal welfare has been at the forefront of our focus and business model. “Our Cows are treated with Love and Respect” and “This milk comes to you from cows treated with love and respect” are more than mere slogans. At Harmony Organic it is a way of life for us, our cows and the families that care for them. Offering quality products can only be achieved by these caring practices. We are always excited about new challenges, technologies and opportunities, and working with like-minded establishments such as Impact Kitchen. Searching for business partners such as Impact are few and far between. It is exciting when we do seek, find and connect, to develop meaningful long lasting strategic relationships.
We are local to Ontario and support many organic functions and events. Our community for the most part consists of like-minded people and businesses who share our vision. It is through these relationships that change occurs. We also have a unique relationship with our animals, that too forms our “community” on the farm.
I am a farmer, and the farm never sleeps. All of our efforts are aimed to add efficiencies and to be easier on the environment. Day in and day out, we are always engaged in the well-being and quality of the lives of our animals, allowing them to live out their natural behaviours. It is sometimes thankless work, but the effort is always worth it.
